General Operating Bylaw & Policies

The Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses is incorporated under the Canada Not For Profit Corporation Act and is governed by the regulations contained in the bylaws and such other bylaws and/or policies as may be enacted. 

Association Policies

Affiliates PolicyAffiliates of the Association: Associate, Student, Honourary and Life Affiliates. Those who do not meet the active/current membership criteria.
Chapter Funding PolicyGuideline for chapters on the use of chapter funds.
Chapter Management PolicyDocumentation required for the creation and maintenance of local chapters.
Code of ConductThis Code of Conduct represents the Association’s commitment to high standards. It should be regarded as minimum expectations for performance. Members who fail to comply with the Code of Conduct policy shall be considered in violation of the agreement and will be subject to appropriate remedial/corrective action.
Committee Representative PolicyTo facilitate requests, criteria has been established to ensure that relevant and consistent representation of critical care nursing is considered in all partner requests. This criteria is used in the selection process for external committee members.
Conflict of InterestThis policy defines CACCN policies regarding conflict of interest, in a manner consistent with encouraging the highest ethical standards as an incorporated
not-for-profit association and consistent with the Association’s policies, that directors, employees and members of not-for-profit associations should not
receive benefits by virtue of their position and board, committee, member service.
Continuous Renewal PolicyThis policy is provided regarding the Continuous Renewal Policy.
Endorsement Guidelines This policy is provided to assess requests when approached by a vendor to endorse a product or service.
Privacy PolicyThis privacy policy is used to ensure the personal information provided to CACCN is protected accordingly.
Refund Policy This policy outlines the refund policy for Membership Fees and Conference Tuition Fees
Social Media PolicyThis policy serves as a guideline to individuals utilizing social media as representatives of the CACCN, voluntary or otherwise, in any capacity, at both the National and Local Chapter levels.
Tuition Coupon PolicyThis policy serves as a guideline for awarding tuition discount coupons for the annual Dynamics of Critical Care Conference
