Annual General Meeting

The annual general meeting of the members is held at the end of October annually. Any CACCN member may attend, however only Active Members have voting rights. Information for the meeting is provided at minimum twenty-one days prior to the meeting in accordance with the General Operating Bylaw # 2. Meetings are held via the Zoom platform. Members must register in advance to receive the meeting link.

CACCN is seeking an interested Association member to serve as a volunteer Board Member on the National Board of Directors for a two-year term from May 1, 2027, to April 30, 2029.

  • Region:   Central – Members from Manitoba and Ontario
  • Position(s):   One (1)
  • Eligibility Criteria:  Active member of CACCN, holding a registered nursing license, and currently working in critical care.

As a Board Member, you will help provide governance and operational leadership, support strategic direction, and contribute to the Association’s long-term strength and sustainability.

Voting Process

  • Acclamation: Should there be one (1) position available and one (1) nominee for the position – the member will be acclaimed provided they meet the nomination criteria.
  • Election: Should there be one (1) position available and more than one (1) nominee for the position – an online election will be held, provided the nominees meet the nomination criteria.
  • Following the close of nominations and verification that the nominees meet the nomination criteria, members will receive an email from Simply Voting with a link to the election site.
  • The Simply Voting election process is secure and confidential.  Access to the voting system is not available to the current CACCN Board of Directors or the National Office. Following the close of voting, a certified election result report is provided by to the CACCN National Office. This report contains the results of the election and does not provide information on specific voters and votes cast.

    NOTE: Nominations close October 1, 2026 @ 1600 hrs ET

    Only completed applications received from the eligible region (Central) by October 1, 2026 will be considered.

    Who can attend

    • All members / registrants may attend the AGM

      Who can vote

      • Active members of the Association (RNs working in critical care in Canada) hold voting rights at the annual meeting of the members.
      • Affiliate members and student registrants may attend the Annual meeting of the members but do not hold voting rights.

      Quorum

      CACCN required participation of a minimum of 2.5% of the active eligible voting membership (minimum 18 members including the board of directors) to complete the business of the meeting.  Unfortunately we did not meet the minimum quorum required at the 2025 AGM and while the meeting proceeded, no motions or voting could take place. Please consider attending the AGM so the business of the Association can go forward.

      Proxy Votes

      • Active members may vote by proxy.
      • Members may appoint a proxy or may appoint the CACCN Vice President or Treasurer to cast their vote.
      • Proxy votes do not count towards required quorum
