- POSITION: Clinical Care Leader
- DEPARTMENT: Emergency
- CONDITIONS: Full-time
- HOURS: Approximately 75.0 Bi-Weekly Hours
- SHIFTS: Days – 7.5 hours per shift (subject to change)
- WAGE RANGE: Minimum $54.17/hr Maximum $ 65.66/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Care Leader is a delegated position of leadership, direction, and supervision that ensures the effective, efficient, and organized daily operations of the clinical unit.
- Ensures the clinical services provided to patient are: fully integrated, safe, and of the highest quality of care.
- Effectively manage corporate priorities and initiatives. He/she will work collaboratively with the interprofessional team to foster a culture of continuous performance improvement.
- Participate in the evaluation of clinical competencies, progressive improvement of patient care delivery, human resource utilization, environmental concerns, and materials management.
- Facilitates the implementation of the professional practice model by promoting and ensuring the delivery of patient care meets the standards of QCH and the professional disciplines where applicable.
- Develop, demonstrate, and maintain honest, open, and clear lines of communication with all members of the health care team, physicians, other departments, community groups, and agencies that promotes engagement, trust and cooperation.
- Demonstrates QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation and respect.
- Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Assistant Clinical Manger:
- Be responsible for the management of patient experience initiatives and oversight for the implementation of Continuous Performance Improvement on the unit.
- Ensure quality and performance measurement metrics and targets are achieved.
- Responsible for acting in a management capacity for human resources issues, including but not limited to performance management and evaluation, recruitment and selection of new employees, mentoring, and professional development.
- Participate in the yearly performance reviews of staff within the department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) Membership
- Minimum 3-5 years of recent Emergency Department experience
- Recent leadership/management experience (within the last 5 years)
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills
- Evidence of facilitation, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated information technology/systems competency
PREFERRED:
- Master’s Degree in a related discipline (or in progress)
- Experience with leading Quality Improvement Initiatives
- Experience with clinical documentation in an Electronic Health Record
- Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) and/or other related certifications
- Membership in Specialty related Professional Association
