Caregivers in the Healthcare Industry continue to be one of the most at risk groups for occupational musculoskeletal disorders. Each year when the Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes occupational injury incidence rates, caregivers in Health Care remain near or at the top of the list. Awareness to this ongoing problem is growing, however effective solutions need to be investigated and implemented. This presentation will consider caregivers in Emergency Departments and explore the occupational risks they face each day. Risk factors will be identified and discussed. Strategies for finding solutions will be presented with examples of specific solutions suggested.
